Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Finding the best vacation home:
- First, have your family agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. New 3BR at Paradise Resort,King Suite,Pools,Views! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
