Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • To find the best vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Perfect Vacation walk to the beach (10) has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
