Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your family choose the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 2 Bedroom \/ 2 Bath - Close to Everything! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
