Vacation rental home tips:
Sticking to your budget:
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. 3BR\/2BA Oceanfront- Gorgeous Southern View-Gorgeous Kitchen & Baths-Book Early! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
