Rental home booking tips:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- First, have your family decide on trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 3BR\/2BA Oceanfront- Gorgeous Southern View-Gorgeous Kitchen & Baths-Book Early! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
