Strategies to get the very best rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 3rd-floor oceanfront condo with pool, hot tub, WiFi & AC - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
