Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.
Planning, selecting, and booking the bestvacation home:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 3rd-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, AC, pool & hot tub - snowbirds OK has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
