Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First and foremost, have your family choose date ranges and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Just steps to the beach. Walking distance to the Beachfront Restaurant! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
