Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 3rd-floor oceanfront snowbird-friendly condo with W\/D, pool, & hot tub has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
