Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 3rd-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
