Vacation rental tips:
Sticking to a budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 5th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, AC, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
