How to book the best vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 4 Bedroom Cottage in the Shore Drive section has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
