Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- To find the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your group choose dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Large Oceanfront Four Bedroom Condo - Available by Luxury Beach Rentals has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
