Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Seaglass Escape - Oceanfront, North Tower, King Bd has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
