Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean View 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit in South Hampton Tower. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
