Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best vacation rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean View 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit in South Hampton Tower. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
