Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean View 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit in South Hampton Tower. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
