Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Selecting and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 4th-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
