Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Find your best deal:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect rental:

  • Start by having your family agree to date ranges and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 6th Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Condo w\/ WiFi, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
