Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the perfectvacation home:
- Start by having your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 6th-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
