Vacation rental home tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To book the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 5th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
