Our top Rental booking tips:

Finding the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Coastal Serenity 1Br Oceanfront Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
