Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- To start, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 6th-floor studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
