Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 6th Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ AC, Pool\/Hot Tub, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
