Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing the bestrental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 7th-floor ocean-view studio with beach access, pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
