Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 7th-floor ocean-view studio with gym, pool, hot tub & WiFi - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If not, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
