Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation rental:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 7th Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ WiFi, AC, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
