Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 7th-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
