Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Renaissance Tower 1909 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
