Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 8th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, WiFi, pool & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
