Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Renovated Oceanfront - Ground Floor - Great Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
