Vacation rental home tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 8th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & gym - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
