Getting the best vacation home experience:
Getting the best value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 8th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & gym - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
