Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 16th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, WiFi & AC - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
