Strategies for getting the best rental home experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 8th-floor oceanfront snowbird-friendly studio with pool\/hot tub, AC, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
