Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 4th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Studio w\/ Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, AC, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
