Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 8th-floor partial ocean-view snowbird-friendly condo with pool, hot tub, & AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, email the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
