How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
