Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.

Advice for a terrific stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.

- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
