Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by having your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 8th-floor studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
