Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.

- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
