Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your family choose vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Reef Resort with POOLS, HOT TUBS, WATER PARK in Myrte Beach, SC 9th floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Advice for a great stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. text the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
