How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking yourrental:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beach Getaway Queen Efficiency 3rd Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
