Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 9th-floor ocean-view studio with beach access pool & hot tub - snowbirf-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
