Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Getting the best value:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 9th-floor oceanfront condo with pool, hot tub, W\/D, & AC has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
