How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to go & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to select the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 9th-floor studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
