Vacation rental home tips:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. A Place at the Beach VI C309 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
