How to find the best vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean View - Marriott's OceanWatch Villas - Upscale Resort Villa On The Beach! Spacious! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
