Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. \"A Wave'n Grace\" Gorgeous Oceanfront Condo w\/Panoramic Balcony Views has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
