How to book the best vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
How to pick the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Landmark King Suite 850 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
