Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking the bestrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. A151 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Relaxing Ocean Breeze Retreat has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
