How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Find your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to pick the best rental:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Above the Waves 3rd Fl King Suite Spectacular View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
