Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Above the Waves 3rd Fl King Suite Spectacular View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
