Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best vacation home:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Adventures at the Beach: Free Breakfast 12th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
