Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. After Dune Delight by WT Golf has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
