How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting and booking your prefectrental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Perfect couples getaway, King Bed, Beautifully clean, with Breathtaking view! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
