How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. ??Amazing OCEANFRONT 2Bd @ Bluewater Resort! ??????? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If not, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
