Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. ??Amazing OCEANFRONT 2Bd @ Bluewater Resort! ??????? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
